THE GROUP OF SEVEN MURAL FESTIVAL |
| |
June 26-July 5, 2009
Come Visit Huntsville during our second Group of Seven Mural Festival.
Watch, interact with the artists, and experience art in the making as seven artists paint seven Group of Seven murals in ten days.
These seven murals, each one in honour of an original Group of Seven artist, will hang in The Downtown Gallery. Plus - as part of the Group of Seven Mural Festival, you too can help paint with our 3rd annual “Add Your Brush Stroke” community mural.
Group of Seven Art Work:
Watch as renowned Canadian mural artists recreated the following Group of Seven paintings into murals for our Downtown Huntsville Gallery:
- Frank Carmichael’s Autumn Orillia 1924
- Lawren Harris’ Northern Painting 25 1924
- A.Y. Jackson’s Stream in the Wood
- Frank Johnston’s Early Evening, Winter 1917
- Arthur Lismer’s Georgian Bay, Spring 1917
- J.E.H. MacDonald’s Wild River 1919
- F.H. Varley’s Midnight Sun 1938
